
Yoga is beneficial in every which way that it is pursued. However, there are certain poses that help you more than the others; obviously, this choice depends on individual preferences. Although each one of the yoga poses has its own benefits, my absolute favourite is the one that helps me attain high levels of wellbeing by strengthening my upper body and the back, in particular.
How to try this pose?
Start on all fours with your hands at a shoulder’s distance from each other. Your knees should be under your hips with your toes pointing directly back. Lift your belly to support your back and keep your spine in a neutral position. Take your right arm up so that it is at level with the rest of the body. When you are in this position, your fingers should be pointing straight ahead. Then, reach your left leg back with toes pointing backwards.
The arm, body and leg should seem like one long line. Hold yourself in this position for about ten breaths. Then, release and repeat with the left arm and right leg. Try this yoga pose for about five times each side and you will soon be able to feel the benefits that it carries. It is a sure-shot means of increasing your energy levels and strengthening the core parts of your body.
